Its been a couple of years since they completed the work they did on my basement. But after last night's storm , not a drop entered my basement. From the time they came to give an estimate, completed the work and taking questions and concerns about my what ifs. They were and have been friendly and professional. The work exceptional... four thumbs...

The advanced basement solutions team was great. They gave us a good price. They came out quick and on time and did a great job with the French drain and new leader lines to the down spouts. It poured after they were done, everything worked to perfection.

We had water coming into our finished basement and got a few quotes on how to fix the problem. Advanced basement solutions installed interior French drains, a bigger sump pump and bottom plates on the foundation, as the foundation had started to shift and crack due the pressure of how much water was coming in. Their quote was less than the competition and they didn’t make us sit through a corny presentation. Zack, the project manager was extremely prompt with his quotes and answered texts quickly with any questions or concerns I had. They were able to come out 3 weeks after we got our quote and had the job done in one day. They cleaned up well and put plastic up at the entrances so debris wouldn’t fly upstairs. So far, our basement has been completely dry and we were able to get it refinished. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone dealing with a wet basement. Don’t call the guys with commercials- you’ll Sit through a presentation full of sales tactics with a ridiculously high price.

We had Advanced Basement Solutions come out for a free evaluation and couldn't be happier with the experience. They showed up right on time, were incredibly professional, and gave us a thorough, honest assessment of our basement — no upselling, no pressure, just straightforward information about what we actually needed. Chris was very nice and a pleasure to deal with. It's rare to find a company that treats a free evaluation with the same care and professionalism as a paying job. That kind of integrity really says a lot. We will absolutely be calling them when we're ready to move forward. Highly recommend Advanced Basement Solutions to anyone looking for an honest, professional company!

Excellent work! The deciding factor in choosing ABS over others was Chris K asking great questions when he came to give an estimate. Clearly he thought through the entire process and anticipated potential challenges rather than just trying to sell me the work. I was very pleased with the end result as well and have had no issues with water in my basement and garage!

I was getting water in my basement for a few years prior to calling Advanced Basement Solutions in 2011. After they came to my house and discussed the project and the price for installing an internal French drain and pump to drain the water out into my yard I felt comfortable with choosing this company. They did not disappoint. Solved my issues completely and I had no issues until early 2025, as I noticed my pump was no longer pumping water out. Impressively the whole system still held the water from getting into my basement. I called them on a Thursday afternoon regarding the matter and within an hour a tech called me back to discuss my pump. The next morning he came to my house and installed a new pump which probably took him 40 minutes max and had the water pumping out!! They really back up there work and parts!! I was really impressed that after 14 years they came back and with no hassle or stress about it solved the problem!!

Basement Waterproofing and Foundation Repair
Services in New Castle

Basement Waterproofing

Interior Drainage Systems for High Water Table Conditions

New Castle’s low-lying areas often deal with groundwater that stays close to the basement slab, especially after long periods of rain. We install interior perimeter drains that collect water before it spreads across the floor, then direct it to a sump basin.

Foundation Repair

Cracked mortar, shifting block, and damp foundation walls often appear together in older New Castle homes. We inspect the wall to determine whether the issue is cosmetic, structural, or water-related; then repoint damaged joints and add drainage based on the condition of your foundation.

Sump Pump Installation and Battery Backup

We install primary pumps sized to your drainage requirements and pair them with Blue Angel battery backup systems to keep your pumps running even when storms knock out the power.

Exterior Drainage and Yard Solutions

Water often collects beside New Castle homes because of flat yards, settled soil, or downspouts that discharge too close to the foundation. We install exterior drains, extend discharge lines, and regrade low or inward-sloping sections of the yard so runoff moves away.

Stabilization for Bowing and Cracking Walls

Horizontal cracks and inward bowing usually mean the soil outside is pushing against the foundation wall.

We install Grip-Tite wall anchors to stop further movement and, when conditions allow, gradually pull the wall toward its original position. Doing so provides structural support without requiring a full foundation replacement in many cases.

Process

Our Basement Waterproofing Process

1

Free On-Site Inspection

We start off with an on-site assessment during which a technician inspects your basement, yard, and perimeter, checking foundation type, the cove joint, the sump pit, grading, and downspout discharge.

2

Personalized Recommendations

After the assessment, our team will create a custom basement waterproofing plan based on our findings. That may mean interior drainage and a new sump pump, or it may be as simple as correcting the yard grade and extending the downspouts away from the foundation.

3

Execution

Our certified basement waterproofing technicians handle the entire process with no subcontractors involved at any stage. Most installations take one to three days, depending on the repairs involved.

We protect nearby floors and belongings, contain dust and debris, and keep the work area organized so disruption to the rest of your home stays limited.

4

Client Review

Before we leave, we show you what was installed, explain how each part works, and answer any remaining questions.

Why New Castle Basements Stay
Damp For Longer

High Groundwater Affects More Than Riverfront Homes

The Shenango and Neshannock rivers meet in downtown New Castle, which contributes to a high water table across the surrounding area. After heavy or repeated rain, groundwater can rise beneath the foundation and enter through the floor or lower walls.

Pre-1940 Foundations Were Not Built To Resist Water

Many New Castle homes were built before modern foundation waterproofing became common. Stone foundations depend on mortar joints that can weaken after decades of moisture and freeze-thaw cycles.

Older block walls may also lack an exterior waterproof membrane, making it easier for water to seep through cracks, joints, and porous masonry.

Flat Lots Make Surface Drainage Worse

A hillside lot at least gives water somewhere to go. On the flatter lots common across New Castle, settled backfill, clay-heavy soil, and poor downspout placement keep water against the foundation far longer than it should be.

The longer the soil stays saturated, the more pressure it puts on the foundation and the greater the chance of basement leaks.

FAQs About Basement Waterproofing in New Castle

FAQs

My foundation is stone, not block or poured. Can it still be waterproofed?

Yes. Stone foundations cannot be sealed from the inside like poured walls, but they can be managed with interior drainage paired with repointing where the mortar has failed.

A home inspector flagged moisture in the basement during my buyer's inspection. What now?

We’ll inspect your basement, pinpoint the cause, and provide a written scope and price you can share with the buyer or agent. Our transferable warranty usually satisfies the inspection contingency.

Does white powder on the wall mean my foundation is failing?

Not by itself. That powder is efflorescence, mineral residue left behind when water passes through the wall and evaporates. It usually signals water intrusion, not necessarily structural damage.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We refer customers to Dollar Bank, including financing for qualified homeowners. We understand that waterproofing and foundation repairs are often unexpected expenses, and financing can help make them easier to manage.
